The Christian County Health Department has confirmed 47 new COVID-19 cases since Thursday.
Department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney Brunt said there are 165 active COVID-19 cases in the county. Of the active cases, 106 are among the 22 to 59 age group, while 33 are 21 or younger. There are 26 active cases in adults 60 or older.
Since the pandemic began, Christian County has confirmed 6,658 total COVID-19 cases and 90 deaths.
The Christian County Health Department will offer the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday.
Department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney Brunt said they would be offering the vaccine for one day only at the James E. Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville. She added any Kentucky resident over the age of 18 would be eligible to receive the vaccine.

Kentucky has opened up vaccinations to anyone 16 and older, but Moderna and Johnson and Johnson haven’t been approved for anyone under the age of 18. Christian County Health Department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney Brunt said the cases mean there are now 165 active cases in the county. Of the active cases, 102 are between the age of 22 and 59, while 34 are 21 or younger, 28 are between 60 and 84, and one is 85 or older.
Since the pandemic began, there are have been 6,611 total COVID-19 cases in Christian County, with 6,356 recoveries and 90 deaths reported.
