The Christian County Health Department reported four deaths in the county linked to the COVID-19 virus Tuesday.
The four deaths were a 67-year-old Black male a 66-year-old and 79-year-old male, and an 81-year-old male. Health Department Director Kayla Bebout said all four people had underlying health conditions.
The four deaths are the most in a 24-hour period for the county since November 24. To date, 56 people linked to the virus have died in Christian County.
In the daily report, the health department added 46 new cases to the COVID-19 total which stands at 871 active cases and 3,912 overall. There was not an age breakdown of the active cases released.

That’s according to a Tuesday update, which states the victims are a 66-year old white male, a 67-year old black male, a 79-year old white male and an 81-year old white female, all of whom reportedly had underlying health conditions. That brings the county’s death toll to 56.

The masking mandate in Nixa has been extended.
The newest order by the mayor says the face mask ordinance will end when either city council or the mayor determine it’s safe to expire the mandate.
The order could also expire when the state of emergency ends.
The ordinance was set to expire on New Year’s Eve at 11:59 p.m.

There were 57 new cases of COVID-19 since Saturday in Christian County.
Ten were recorded on Sunday and 47 Monday, according to the Christian County Health Department.
