MLK Jr Elementary welcomes two new assistant principals

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Apr 29, 2021 5:35 PM Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School is celebrating the hiring of two new Assistant Principals in the Christian County Public School System. According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, Principal Carrie Caples announced the hiring of Stephanie Blanton and Laura Jenkins as assistant principals for the 2021-2022 school year. Blanton has taught at MLK for the past 13 years and has also served in a reading and math interventionist position at the school. She holds bachelors and multiple master’s degrees from Murray State University.     Jenkins has 23 years of experience in education as a teacher and an assistant principal. Jenkins currently serves as the Transition Readiness Coach at Christian County High School and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Austin Peay State University and a Rank 1 designation from Indiana Wesleyan University.
