While the number of COVID-19 cases in Christian County has increased in July compared to June, the number of vaccinations has not.
The health department reported 143 active cases in Christian County Thursday, with an increase of 78 cases from last week. 26 of the active cases involve people under 21 and 103 are between 22 and 59 years of age. None are over 85.
Last week, the health department reported an increase of 28 cases.
There have been 197 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Christian County in July compared to 59 new cases in June.
However, the number of people vaccinated by the health department dropped in July from 563 in June to 446 this month.

A Crofton man was arrested on several felony charges after a high-speed pursuit in Christian County Thursday afternoon.
Christian County sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop 40-year-old James Ferrell for a traffic violation at the intersection of Greenville Road and Kentucky 1682.
He reportedly fled at a high rate of speed turning on to Dawson Springs Road while throwing drugs out the window of the vehicle.
Ferrell allegedly stopped in a church parking lot about two miles north of Kentucky 1682.
Deputies say the vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen in Hopkinsville from Enterprise on December 11th.
Ferrell is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, trafficking of meth, reckless driving, receiving stolen property, tampering with physical evidence.
