Christian Fiscal Court returned to meeting in person Tuesday morning and approved the purchase of a parcel of land near the Public Safety Building.
The county already owned three-quarters of the land where a tobacco warehouse once stood before it burned near Young Street, and County Attorney John Soyars says he was able to locate the heirs that owned the remaining portion and they agreed to sell for $10,000.
Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says it’s possible the Christian County Sheriff’s Department in the future could construct an evidence warehouse on the old loose floor site.
