College Street Murder Suspect Trial Scheduled For Next Year

Kachelle Isbell A Hopkinsville woman charged with an April murder on College Street will head to trial in March 2022. Kachelle Isbell is charged with murder in connection to the death of 33-year-old Anthony Johnson. Hopkinsville Police said Isbell shot Johnson in the neck in the early morning hours of April 3rd. She was located at the scene of the shooting with a gun and reportedly admitted to shooting him. Isbell, her attorney, and special prosecutor Tim Cocanougher appeared before Christian Circuit Judge Andrew Self Wednesday. The up to week-long trial will begin Monday, March 7, 2022, with a final pre-trial scheduled for Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

Christian Co School Board members sworn-in

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 7, 2021 7:22 PM New board members, along with one returning board member, were sworn in at Thursday’s meeting of the Christian County School Board. Tiffany Mumford-Brame, Mike Walker and Jeff Moore were sworn-in virtually by Christian Circuit Judge Andrew Self, who wished them luck, saying he knows they will work their hardest to do the best they can for the students of Christian County. Board member Tom Bell was selected to serve as board chair, filling the role previously filled by former member Linda Keller, with Lindsey Clark chosen as vice-chair. Students had been set to return to in-person, traditional five days a week learning on Wednesday of this week, but due to a spike in local COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, that was delayed until Monday.  Assistant Superintendent Laura Morris says they are working closely with the health department on getting vaccines to teachers and staff who want one as soon as possible.
