CHRISTIANSBURG — Nancy Renee Fridley, the Virginia woman accused of abducting a 2-year-old from a church in Giles County tried to mislead investigators by submitting false tips, a prosecutor said Thursday. And during the 25 hours that Fridley allegedly had Noah Gabriel Trout, she and her boyfriend shaved the child’s head and introduced him to neighbors as “Bobby Jr.,” saying he was the son of Fridley’s boyfriend Bobby Lee Taylor, the prosecutor said. The toddler was taken from a nursery during Sunday services May 2 at Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, Virginia, about 80 miles north of the N.C. state line.

First Published: 7:49 AM PDT, May 25, 2021 Officials believe the person died within the past year, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.  A group of fishermen at Shumate Falls in West Virginia made a gruesome discovery when they found skeletal remains. The remains, which were found on the bank of the New River, located near the Virginia and West Virginia border, were determined to be human, according to deputies from the Giles County Sheriff’s Office. A pair of Under Armour high-top shoes were also found, police said. The medical examiner said the person is believed to be a white male, between the ages of 40 and 60 years old. Officials believe the person died within the past year, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
