More than a dozen coronavirus-related deaths have been announced at hospitals in mid and south Essex. NHS England data shows there have been 17 more fatalities recorded at Southend, Basildon and Broomfield hospitals in the past 24 hours. The deaths happened either on or between January 19 and 31. It takes the total number of Covid-related deaths at the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust to 1,998. There were 15 more deaths announced by Essex hospitals, with 10 of those at the trust responsible for running Colchester and Ipswich hospitals. Another was recorded at Clacton Community Hospital and the other four at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
