INDIANA, USA It is an initiative set to save lives. Governor Eric Holcomb, along with Indiana Family and Social Services Administration s Division of Mental Health and Addiction, will be partnering with Overdose Lifeline Inc to provide Narcan kits to all 92 Indiana counties.
These NaloxBox units will be accessible 24/7. A NaloxBox is a hard acrylic box mounted to an exterior wall that provides 24/7 access to naloxone. Each unit contains six to eight doses of naloxone, instructions for use, and treatment referral cards.
On Monday, three local agencies voiced their opinions on the initiative.
21 New Area Cases, One COVID Related Death Thursday
Health department officials reported just 21 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, along with one additional death in northeast Missouri and western Illinois Thursday.
14 of those new cases were reported in Adams County, bringing their case total to 7,761, with 197 active, 20 hospitalized, three in intensive care and 108 deaths.
The positivity rate in Adams County remains low at 2.56%.
Elsewhere, the Clark County Health Department reported four new coronavirus cases Thursday. Their case total now stands at 696, with 25 active, one hospitalized and 21 deaths.
In Marion County, officials reported two new COVID cases Thursday, running their case total to 3,487, with 58 active, eleven hospitalized and 63 deaths.
