WPD reports: Police busy handling multiple incidents of drivers with drugs
WILMINGTON
The following report is generated from incident reports provided by the Wilmington Police Department. All those charged/arrested are presumed innocent until possibly found guilty in court. Charges may be dropped or changed in court.
Wilmington police recently processed the following reports:
• Police arrested a Xenia male for allegedly having a weapon under disability and carrying a concealed weapon at 11:23 p.m. on May 12 around College and Elm Streets. Police collected a pistol and a magazine with six .380 caliber bullets in it.
• Police arrested a Xenia male for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of meth and alleged drug abuse instrument possession at 1:25 a.m. on May 8 around East Sugartree and South Walnut Streets. According to the report, police seized three used needles and a dosage unit of suspected amphetamines/methamphetamines. Police also collected
One sentenced for poaching incident

WILMINGTON One of three suspects in the poaching incident during which a wildlife officer was shot was sentenced Thursday.
Bryan Achtermann, 36, entered a no-contest plea and was found guilty in April to charges of hunting without a license and hunting deer without a permit.
In Clinton County Municipal Court, he was sentenced to 10 days suspended jail time. Achtermann is prohibited from hunting for six years, and the rifle he had with him the night of the incident must be forfeited to law enforcement.
Achtermann is one of three people charged in relation to the December 2020 shooting of Wildlife Investigator Kevin Behr of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The other two are Brian Liming, 44, who is facing federal gun charges; and Thomas Davis, 35, who entered a not guilty plea to a charge of complicity.
2 face multiple charges including drug trafficking after SWAT makes arrests
WILMINGTON Two local men face potential drug trafficking charges after an arrest Wednesday morning.
Around 8:15 a.m., the Clinton County-Wilmington Joint SWAT Team executed a search warrant at the 800 block of Kathryn Drive for alleged drug trafficking of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Ryan Lyons, 40, and Anthony Simich, 36, who both reside at the address, were arrested and are currently booked in the Clinton County Jail.
Wilmington Police Detective Scott Baker told the News Journal this was the result of a two-month joint investigation by the Wilmington PoliceDepartment and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. Lyons was on parole for allegedly fleeing from officers and assaulting a police officer.
Driver cited after another swerves into house

BLANCHESTER A driver attempting to avoid being in an accident crashed into a house at around 6 p.m. Monday.
Blanchester police responded to the 800 block of S. Broadway St. on a report that a car crashed into a house. Blanchester Emergency Medical Service and the Blanchester-Marion Twp. Fire Department also responded, according to a news release from Police Chief Scott Reinbolt.
“BPD Ptl. Roger Epure arrived and found that a silver Ford Focus crashed into a home at 809 S. Broadway, slightly entering a living room closet. No one inside the home was injured,” stated Reinbolt.

The following continues the list of those who pled guilty or were found guilty between April 26, 2021 and April 30, 2021:
• Brandon Leonard, 34, of Cincinnati, vehicle trespass, sentenced to 10 days in jail (suspended), fined $250, assessed $135 court costs. Leonard must have no contact with the victim and must commit no further offenses in Clinton County for two years.
