Husband and wife owners of Lakeland’s Cleveland Heights Pharmacy shifted their focus to offer COVID-19 vaccines after learning their older customers struggled to make vaccine appointments online.
LAKELAND – People looking for vaccines in Lakeland are almost sounding like addicts trying to find a dealer, consulting friends on social media to see which stores have appointment times and spreading the news when they find shots available.
That was the case this week when word got out that Cleveland Heights Pharmacy, across from Dog Leg Woods dog park, not only has COVID-19 vaccines but also had appointment times.
Pam Hoffman, 48, said she had gone on vaccinefinder.org to try to get an appointment somewhere anywhere. She said it showed that Publix, Walgreens and CVS had vaccines, but when she tried to make an appointment on their websites, there were none to be had. On Tuesday, she spotted Cleveland Heights Pharmacy on the VaccineFinder page.
