CLEVELAND - Frank Q. Jackson, the grandson of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, is charged with two felonies - felonious assault and failure to comply - in relation to an alleged high speed police chase in Parma in the early morning hours of Jan. 24, 2021. The chase followed a traffic stop for tinted windows on a vehicle being driven by the younger Jackson. Body-cam video from the scene shows Jackson refusing to leave the vehicle; officers try to pull him out, at which time Jackson speeds off and drags Officer Matthew Midlin alongside the vehicle. Midlin was not injured and Jackson turned himself into police hours later. At the time, there was a warrant out for Jackson s arrest in connection with a domestic violence investigation. Cleveland, Ohio – Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson’s grandson has been indicted on two felony counts connected to a January incident in which police said he dragged an officer and led them on a high-speed chase. Frank Q. Jackson, 24, is indicted on charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and failure to comply, a third-degree felony, in connection with the January 24th encounter.
Cleveland.com reports that he is free on $10,000 bond.
Jackson is no stranger to trouble and is currently on probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in which he was accused of hitting a woman with a truck hitch. He was also charged in Cleveland Municipal Court with misdemeanor domestic violence in connection with a December incident.

CLEVELAND, Ohio It was in October 2009 that the Cleveland area first learned of serial killer Anthony Sowell. For the next few weeks, the horrors of his crimes would emerge.
Sowell, who died Monday afternoon at an Ohio prison hospital of an unspecified illness at the age of 61, eventually was convicted in July 2011 of the deaths of 11 women and was sentenced to death.

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio – The city will ask the Cleveland Division of Water for financial help in replacing main water lines, more than a dozen of which have broken in North Royalton during the first month of 2021 alone.
The issue came up during a Feb. 2 meeting of City Council’s Utilities Committee. Councilmen Vincent Weimer and Michael Wos discussed water main breaks that have occurred in the southwest corner of town, within their Wards 5 and 6, respectively. The breaks have cracked streets and driveways.

(Cleveland) - At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, the City of Cleveland will be looking for a new Health Commissioner. Health Commissioner Persis Sosiak handed in her resignation Tuesday, effective Friday, February 5, 2021.
When Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson reorganized the city health department in August, Sosiak was one of two employees who were targeted for pre-disciplinary reviews.
Sosiak s position will be posted after her departure. The city will appoint an acting commissioner.
The city also says that as part of a partnership, Case Western Reserve University will assist the city Department of Public Health with building the capacity of the Epidemiology Unit. This will provide the city with support elements needed to strengthen the Epidemiology Unit. The city says a team of Case Western Reserve epidemiologists will help the CDPH epidemiology team manage, analyze and display the data necessary to optimize the COVID response. Another part of
