Clemson Compliance Corner - NCAA Rules Regarding Complimentary Admissions
It is important to be aware of NCAA rules covering complimentary admissions to ensure the eligibility of all Clemson student-athletes is maintained.
Please remember, as an IPTAY member, you are considered a representative of an institution’s athletics interests (i.e., booster) for Clemson. As such, the NCAA has strict guidelines concerning boosters and complimentary admissions. While the NCAA legislates the number of complimentary admissions an eligible student-athlete may receive in his or her respective sport, it is impermissible for a booster to purchase such complimentary admissions from a student-athlete. Such an action could render a student-athlete ineligible for competition. Please do not contact student-athletes and/or their family or friends in an effort to purchase their complimentary admissions.
Clemson Compliance Corner - All-Sports Recruiting Dead Period - Prohibition on Contact & Recruiting Visits
On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, the NCAA Division I Council extended the all-sports temporary COVID-19 recruiting dead period through Monday, May 31, 2021. During a dead period, NCAA rules prohibit in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off a Division I campus. Also, official and unofficial visits by prospective student-athletes to a DI campus are prohibited during this time. Please note the other specific NCAA prohibitions while the dead period is in effect:
It is impermissible for Clemson Athletics Department staff members to send itineraries (e.g., campus tours, instructions on accessing athletics facilities) to prospective student-athletes, their family members, or their friends for visits to campus.
