The head on collision claimed the life of 19 year old James Cummings of Croswell. His 18 year old female passenger, Rylee Alfaro, also of Croswell, suffered life threatening injuries and has since died. The two were traveling northbound in the 6500 block of Lakeshore Road around 6:40pm Sunday night when they struck an oncoming car. The crash remains under investigation. ODENVILLE An arrest has been made in connection to a St. Clair County death investigation that began on Sunday.
Authorities launched the investigation after unidentified remains were discovered in the Hunters Crossing area of Odenville.
On Tuesday, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office announced the identity of the victim.
“After an extensive investigation by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division, working in conjunction with the Odenville Police Department, we have probable cause to believe that the human remains located in theHunters Crossing area of Odenville are that of Mr. John Scoggins,” read a report from the sheriff’s office. “A forensic identification is pending at this time.”

BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a three-vehicle crash that left one man dead and two people hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 at the 6500 block of Lakeshore Road in Burtchville Township, according to a sheriff’s department news release. Burtchville Township is about 12 miles north of Port Huron in St. Clair County.
A 1997 Ford F150 pick-up was northbound on Lakeshore Road when the driver attempted to pass a pick-up truck pulling a trailer in a no passing zone, the sheriff’s department preliminary investigation indicates, according to the news release. While attempting to pass the truck with a trailer, the F150 collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Lincoln.
MOODY Two suspects are in custody following an armed robbery and subsequent car chase in Moody.
The alleged crime took place on Saturday night at the Family Dollar Store in Moody. Maurice Todd, 21, and Deja Robinson, 20, both of Birmingham, have been charged with first-degree robbery and attempting to elude law enforcement. Bond for both has been set at $61,000.
According to a post from the Moody Police Department, the suspects led officers on a car chase through Moody, to Interstate 20 and into Irondale following the robbery. The vehicle came to a stop after Irondale police successfully deployed spike strips.
As the vehicle came to a stop, both occupants attempted to flee on foot but were taken into custody.
