Dixon will oversee all facets of the hotel s day-to-day operations, the overarching food and beverage programs, as well as banquets and catering.

MJ Insurance has hired Holden Crossland as employee benefits consultant, Branden Bushelle as database analyst and Matthew Young as risk transfer specialist at the independent agency’s Indianapolis headquarters.
As an employee benefits consultant, Crossland will consult with existing and prospective clients to understand their business needs. He will identify potential risks and develop strategies to manage costs and drive results for the client’s employee benefits program.
Crossland most recently served as a sales consultant for Paychex Inc. where he promoted the Paychex software platform and consulted with existing clients to upgrade services and total contract value. He received several distinguished achievements while serving at Paychex, including “Rookie of the Year.” Crossland earned a degree in economics and psychology from Miami University.

It was this week 37 years ago that the first Jimmy John s opened in Charleston, Illinois. Its founder, Jimmy John Liautaud, had just turned nineteen.
Liautaud was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He struggled through school, and after high school decided to get into the hot dog business. His father agreed to provide some seed money, with the caveat that if the business failed, Liautaud would enlist in the military.

Shelia Boozer, the director of teaching and learning for Springfield School District 186, is one of three finalists for the Champaign school district’s superintendent position.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based firm Ray and Associates was hired by the Champaign school board to conduct a national search. Seven semi-finalists were interviewed and the field was eventually pared to three.
The Champaign school district has just over 10,000 students on 19 campuses in Champaign, Bondville and Savoy.
Boozer has served in the cabinet-level position with District 186 since 2014.
Boozer was principal at Lanphier High School and also atBlack Hawk and Fairview elementary schools.
According to the Champaign News-Gazette, a main focus of the board is hiring a candidate who is a fit with the district s strategic plan, which it adopted over the summer, and lays out steps to improve equity. An anti-racism resolution is part of the plan.
