Patients push for Clacton surgery to be relocated

PATIENTS pushing for the relocation of a doctors’ surgery which would “benefit the whole community” are growing frustrated with how long it is taking. Last year the Gazette was told the East Lynne Medical Centre could potentially move into the Tendring Centre, which is run by St Helena Hospice. It came after the charity submitted plans to sell-off the Clacton building, in Jackson Road, and sought permission so 40 flats and 27 parking spaces could be built. Ground-floor space was also set aside within the scheme for a possible restaurant, shop, or pub, which could have been occupied by a national company.

Have your say on plan to move GPs to Clacton Hospital | Clacton and Frinton Gazette

Have your say on plan to move GPs to Clacton Hospital at virtual event PATIENTS are being urged to have their say over plans to move two outdated doctors surgeries into Clacton Hospital at a virtual event. NHS North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said Ranworth Surgery, in Pier Avenue, and St James’ GP practices, in Wash Lane, have both expressed wishes to move from their current premises. St James  caters for more 13,600 patients and Ranworth has more than 8,000 on its books. Pam Green, chief officer at the CCG, said moving them into nearby Clacton Hospital would give them the opportunity to deliver primary care services from new and more modern facilities .
