North East Derbyshire District Council chairman Martin Thacker launches his charity pink gin with Oliver Meakin, head distiller and blender of Derbyshire Distillery.
Coun Thacker said: “It has been a fantastic experience working with Derbyshire Distillery to produce this incredible special edition gin. It is sure to be a big hit with gin lovers and as a special edition – make sure you get your hands on a bottle before they run out!
“Of course, the main reason for producing this limited edition gin is to help support my charity this year in office – Ashgate Hospicecare. All profits from the sales of the gin will be donated to the charity.

Planning documents reveal the former pub site has a chequered recent history.
“The public house closed in 2018, reports say. Prior to this time it had struggled to be a viable business with various landlords and managers, and became an attraction for undesirable activities such as substance abuse with police frequently being called to the site. The public house was put up for sale in 2018 by its owners Enterprise Inns but despite being on the market for a year no buyers came forward.
