BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Baton Rouge police have made an arrest in the fatal crash that claimed the life of Scotlandville senior and volleyball player Alexis Robinson, 18 on April 3.
According to BRPD, Christopher Thomas, 33, of Independence, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Vehicular Homicide, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Reckless Operation of a Vehicle and General Speed Law.
BRPD officials say, Thomas was driving a 2008 Ford F150, traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Sherwood Forest crashed into a 2017 Toyota Corolla that was driven by Alexis Robinson, 18.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Two women are facing charges for allegedly selling fake Louisiana Motor Vehicle Inspection Stickers (MVI) and Louisiana Temporary License Plates through social media accounts.
Louisiana State Police said Louvenia Allen, 30, of Baton Rouge, and Yakevia Hicks, 34, of New Orleans, were arrested on Thursday, May 13. They were both booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate, computer fraud, and criminal conspiracy. No bond is set.

Two Louisiana residents have been arrested following an investigation into complaints of people selling fraudulent inspection stickers and temporary plates on Facebook.
State Police say that on April 29, 2021, they received numerous complaints from the public of an individual selling suspected fraudulent Louisiana Motor Vehicle Inspection Stickers (MVI) and Louisiana Temporary License Plates via Facebook Marketplace.
As a result of the investigation, LSP Detectives arrested 30-year-old Louvenia Allen of Baton Rouge and 34-year-old Yakevia Hicks of New Orleans.
An investigation revealed Allen and Hicks were selling fraudulent MVI Stickers and Louisiana Temporary License Plates on various social media outlets under the screen names âKellz Goatedâ and âBig Kellzâ.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A man is dead after a fatal crash on Plank Road Monday, May 10, according to Baton Rouge police.
A Lexus crashed into the rear end of a Chevrolet as the Chevrolet merged into the southbound lane of Plank Road from southbound I-110.
Kevin Blakes, 53, died after his car was hit and his gas tank exploded, causing a large fire in the 1500 block of Plank Road around 10:13 p.m. He was trapped inside the vehicle and died from his injuries, BRPD said.
