The Indigenous People of Biafra has demanded that the Imo State Government House should be named after the Eastern Security Network commander, Ikonso killed by the security operatives on Saturday.

No fewer than 200 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria in the past one week from unpleasant situations such as insecurity, road crashes, accidental situations, among others.
From investigations, SaharaReporters gathered that the majority of those who were killed in the past week were security operatives such as soldiers, police officers and local vigilantes.
Below is a breakdown of the number of deaths recorded from Monday, April 19 to April 27.

IPOB renamed the Imo State Government House and some roads in the state after Ikonso.
The spokesman of IPOB, Emma Powerful, explained that the decision aimed at immortalizing Ikonso who Nigerian security agents killed.
The group stressed that the renaming takes immediate effect.
A statement by Powerful reads partly: “We, the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Biafrans worldwide ably led by our great and indomitable leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to announce to the world, our unanimous decision to rename the Imo State Government House, Douglas Road Owerri, and Awomamma Junction after the late heroic Commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) Ikonso, was murdered in cold blood by cowardly Nigeria security operatives.

Presidential media aide, Lauretta Onochie says a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra has renounced the group after the death of a commander of the Eastern Security Network, Ikonso in Imo State on Saturday.
She shared the WhatsApp chat of an anonymous person she claimed had renounced IPOB on Sunday evening after the joint operatives of the Nigerian Army, police and State Security Service killed Ikonso and six other members of IPOB’s security arm, Eastern Security Network.
