The last time Paulo Santos traveled between two hospitals, critically ill with COVID-19, he was transported by ambulance, his survival very much in doubt.
On Saturday, exactly one year since returning home, Santos will recreate his journey by running about 20 miles from CentraState Medical Center in Freehold to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

EAST BRUNSWICK–The East Brunswick Public Library’s (EBPL) newest “Watch Your Language: A Multicultural Teen Club” creates a virtual space for teenagers to learn about the elements of different cultures.
“The club was founded by a junior at East Brunswick High School who wanted a place for teens to connect through shared experiences of being immigrants or first generation. East Brunswick has a diverse community, and the hope is to bring people together to explore their roots, their languages, and their cultures,” said Jenna Ingham, EBPL Teen and Youth Services librarian.
Ingham said the members of the club educate others about their backgrounds as well as learn about other cultures.
Picking a college is hard. Now, N.J. kids have to decide without stepping foot on campus.

The Montclair University student ambassador hit all the traditional college tour notes.
She pointed out the pros and cons of each residence hall. She bragged about the Olympic-sized swimming pool and free fitness classes. And she told prospective students to rub Rocky the Red Hawk’s beak for good luck on finals.
But, when the time for questions arrived usually a moment of delight for over-eager parents and humiliation for their weary children the tour went silent. Instead, questions began filling up the Zoom chatbox.

East Brunswick council reduces speed limit on Cranbury Road to accommodate bike lane
EAST BRUNSWICK – The Township Council has adopted an ordinance amending the municipal code to reduce the speed limit on Cranbury Road from the northernmost Evergreen Boulevard intersection.
Business Administrator Joseph Criscuolo said on Dec. 14 that the reason for this speed limit reduction is for the continuation of bicycle paths.
“Cranbury Road is a county road and according to the state requirements and the county requirements on their roads, the speed limit will have to be lowered in order to make the changes, or add that bike lane, to get us all the way up to East Brunswick High School,” Criscuolo said. “So it’s our intention to keep widening the bike paths within the town.”
