According to prosecutors, Catherine’s body was found in a garage on East Pleasant Valley Boulevard in Altoona. Another woman involved Samantha Musselman also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count on conspiracy abuse of a corpse. Districts attorney’s say Musselman was given the maximum sentence of 1 to 2 years in jail followed by probation. The DA says she is given credit for time served of 17 months and will be placed on probation for an additional 7 months.

But that might be in part to a shortage of dogs. “People are home more to spend time with their current pets, so we are not experiencing the demand for surrenders of animals that we have in the past,” said Theresa Shirley, Central Pennsylvania Humane Society shelter manager. Shirley said the East Pleasant Valley Boulevard shelter has been very low on dog numbers since the beginning of the pandemic.
