The family also said someone seems to continuously rip up Crime Stoppers posters asking people to call in with tips. Kimball’s father, Michael Horner, said every time it happens, the emotional wounds are reopened yet once again. Since Kimball’s murder in the parking lot of his East Lafayette apartment building, Horner has been grieving and looking for answers.

In parts of Detroit, water service to be off for a day or two

View Comments Repairs to a water main in Detroit are expected to temporarily shut off water service in buildings Monday, and Tuesday morning or longer, in between East Congress and East Lafayette and Woodward to Beaubien. A 30-inch water main on Farmer Street near Bates Street began leaking late last week, the city said. Repairs are scheduled to begin at noon. No boil-water advisory has been issued. The city does not know how long the repair will take, but hopes it will be completed by Tuesday morning. Read more:

Jacolby Nunez facing charges in connection fatal Abbeville shooting

Jacolby Nunez was charged with first-degree murder. Abbeville police allege 32-year-old Nunez shot James Joseph Jr. on April 9 in the 900 block of East Lafayette Street. Joseph died as a result of the shooting, department spokesperson Lt. Jonathan Touchet said in a release. Police also have charged Jordan Matthews, of Abbeville, with principal to second-degree murder. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
