newsroom@reviewonline.com LISBON A Wellsville man was sentenced to three years in prison for drug-related charges in Common Pleas Court before Judge Scott Washam on Thursday. Devontae M. McKinney, 29, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, pleaded guilty in March to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; possession of cocaine, third-degree felony; possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a second-degree felony, and a forfeiture specification. “I would like to apologize for my actions to the community and take responsibility for what I did,” McKinney said prior to sentencing. According to court records, McKinney had attempted to hide a baggie of drugs down the back of his pants during a traffic stop of a vehicle he was riding in on Feb. 22, 2020. He was later found to have more than 10 grams of a compound mixture containing crack cocaine and fentanyl, along with $1,307 after East Liverpool K-9 Noras alerted to drugs in the vehicle and McKinney was searched for weapons.
