EWU Bucks Trend, Will Not Require Vaccinations

Unlike recent announcements from WSU, UW, PLU, Western WA U, CWU and some other universities, Eastern Washington University in Cheney will not require students to be vaccinated. More specifically, the University is not making it a requirement have proof of being vaccinated to attend in-person classes or live on campus. Eastern’s leadership team is considering easing some restrictions for students who are vaccinated and there may be areas of campus and some activities where a vaccination requirement is implemented. But the university feels at this time it is up to each of us to take the necessary steps for a healthy and safe return.

It s been 50 years since the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation voted against termination, effectively ending the federal government s experiment in abrogating treaties, eliminating funding and freeing the Indians from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. More than 100 tribes were terminated by the United States but not one after the 12 bands that make up the reservation in Washington state crushed the idea at the ballot box.
