Decatur police are investigating several shootings, trying to determine if they are connected. Officials say a 29-year-old woman showed up at the hospital Saturday with two gunshot wounds they believe she got after gunfire was heard near Water and Marietta streets where a birthday party was being held. She is expected to survive, but no suspect information is available.
Investigators say witnesses saw the passenger in an old, white van fire on a home Saturday evening at East Williams and 24th streets in a separate incident. A 30-year-old man and his ten-year-old son showed up shortly afterward at the hospital, both with gunshot wounds. Both are expected to survive.
