PLAINS TWP. â Reviewing the progress of building the new Wilkes-Barre Area High School, Superintendent Brian Costello said Wednesday he is expecting to start showcasing the consolidated high school during tours and open house events by late July and early August.
âWeâre just so excited for the idea that all the opportunities that this building is going to present, not just to our students, but to our community, that weâre all going to be together under one roof,â Costello said.
The district is merging its three high schools â GAR, Meyers and Coughlin â after the current school year ends in June. GAR will become a middle school, and the district agreed to selling Coughlin for $1.65 million and is trying to sell Meyers.
