The Flora-Bama has announced a special military benefit appearance by John Rich of Big & Rich and country duo Thompson Square. For one of the artists involved, the legendary coastal venue on the Alabama-Florida line isn’t that far from home: Shawna Thompson of Thompson Square is from Laton Hill, a Washington County community just outside Chatom. As a matter of fact, when she and husband Kiefer Thompson performed at Mobile’s final BayFest in 2014, she mentioned the venue.
