Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is at the centre of yet another controversy in the United States today after hanging a sickening sign outside the office of a Democratic colleague. Ms Greene, a far-right conspiracy theorist, was elected to represent Georgia s 14th congressional district last year. Since then, she has become an increasingly prominent voice within the Republican Party, gaining attention for her extreme views. The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives recently voted to strip Ms Greene of her committee assignments due to those views, including: her past support for QAnon, which believes a cabal of Satan-worshipping paedophiles secretly controls the world; her belief that mass shootings were staged by the government to build support for gun control measures; her claim there was never any evidence that a plane hit the Pentagon on 9/11; and her support for executing high profile Democrats.
I keep hearing that Joe Biden has to govern from the center. He has no choice, they say, because he has razor-thin majorities in Congress and the Republican Party has moved to the right.
Rubbish. First, there is no center between the reality-based world and the conspiracy-fueled, hate-filled world of today s Republican Party. Second, the problems the country is facing cannot be solved with milquetoast, centrist solutions they demand immediate, bold action.

The House voted to remove Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments because of her past embracing of conspiracy theories. Before the vote, Greene told the House she no longer holds some of those extreme views and now believes school shootings and the 9/11 attacks were real. CBS News' Debra Alfarone reports from Washington on Greene's reaction, and CBS News Capitol Hill producer Rebecca Kaplan joined CBSN to discuss what further actions Democrats could take against the lawmaker.
