New Delhi, April 13 : The Supreme Court on Tuesday said the High Courts should refrain from holding a mini trial at the stage of discharge application or framing of charges.
A bench comprising Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and M.R. Shah said: At the stage of framing of the charge and/or considering the discharge application, the mini trial is not permissible. At this stage, it is to be noted that even as per Section 7 of the PC (Prevention of Corruption) Act, even an attempt constitutes an offence. Therefore, the High Court has erred and/or exceeded in virtually holding a mini trial at the stage of discharge application.

Stranas PK is a national policy aim that focuses on corruption prevention, and is referred to by ministries, bodies, and regional governments in preventing corruption in Indonesia, based on Presidential Decree number 54 of 2018.
NEW DELHI, Mar 16:
A total of 32.31 lakh people in Jammu and Kashmir have been given domicile certificates, while 2.15 lakh applications have been rejected, Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said today.
Reddy also said in Lok Sabha that as per the information provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, a total of 35,44,938 applications for issue of domicile certificates have been received as on December 31, 2020, out of which 32,31,353 applicants have been issued domicile certificates.
A total of 2,15,438 applications have been rejected, he said replying a written question.
He said Rule 5 of the Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2020 mandates certain documents to be annexed with the application. The applications which lack the prescribed documents are rejected.
