State Adjusts Student Learning Options The Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Education released an update to the Ready Schools, Safe Learners guidance.  Right now, about 175,000 students in Oregon are attending school in person. Governor Kate Brown issued an executive order requiring all Oregon public schools to offer universal access to hybrid or full in-person instruction by the weeks of March 29 for grades K-5, and April 19 for grades 6-12.   What does this all mean? Some key changes from the guidance: There’s a simplified table showing how schools will use county case rates, case counts and test positive rates to decide when to offer on-site or hybrid learning and when they might limit instruction to distance learning only.

Redmond FAN Receives $32,000 From Virtual Lunch Supporters of The Family Access Network (FAN) Foundation gathered virtually recently to celebrate the Fourth Annual Redmond Luncheon fundraiser. With almost 100 website visitors, this event raised over $32,000 for Redmond FAN.  SunWest Builders provided the Title Sponsorship for the fourth year. The other monetary and in-kind event sponsors were key to making the event possible. $400,000 Granted To Local Non Profits

$400,000 Granted To Local Non Profits Bend Foundation is donating $400,000 in grants to Central Oregon nonprofit organizations. A total of $200,000 was granted to Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity to support its goals for providing decent and affordable housing for Central Oregonians in need. The other half of the total amount was granted primarily to organizations in Bend that are addressing pandemic-related food, clothing, shelter, support and economic issues. Robin Cooper Engle, vice president of resource development for Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity, said, “With Bend Foundation’s support for our Humanity In Action campaign, Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity takes a big step forward in delivering greater opportunity for working families to become homeowners. Health care providers, teachers, small business owners and others deserve the opportunity to own a home and build a brighter, more stable future for their families.”

C.O. Association of Realtors seeks nonprofit applicants for donations BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Central Oregon Association of REALTORS® will be accepting applications for donations from local nonprofits until Sept. 30. The criteria for those applying consists of: Applicant must be a 501(c)3 Priority will be given to smaller organizations that provide basic needs to the community, such as food, shelter, clothing and medical services. Political organizations/campaigns, religious activities, sports teams or individual activities are not eligible (religious organizations are eligible for community service programs). Funds must be used for programs and not events or marketing. Programs must take place in Crook, Deschutes, Jefferson, Harney or Wheeler counties.
