Glass Lewis rates Adani as having “severe” risk of material financial impacts driven by environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. “We believe these matters should be concerning to shareholders in how Adani Enterprises’ board oversees risk in operations that may be associated with the globally unpopular Carmichael Mine.”
Since only one member of the risk committee was up for reelection, Glass Lewis advised shareholders to vote against nominee Pranav Adani “due to his failure to fulfill his duty to shareholders as a member of the risk management committee.”
In a separate note, it also flagged as a concern Adani’s involvement with the development of a port in Yangon, Myanmar which has links to the military.

A prominent global shareholder advisory group has told investors in India’s Adani Enterprises to vote against the re-election of one of the company’s directors due to risks surrounding the controversial Carmichael coal mine in Queensland.
In a sign of lingering concerns within the global financial community about the Indian conglomerate’s Australian operations, US-based Glass Lewis recommended removing director Pranav Adani from the Adani board in light of his “failure to fulfil his duty to shareholders as a member of the risk management committee”.

In a decision claimed as a win by both parties, Queensland s Supreme Court has found Adani must share confidential if redacted documents with activist Ben Pennings as the company pursues the co-founder of direct action group Galilee Blockade with allegations of breach of confidence relating to confidential information, inducing breach of contract and intimidation relating to Adani’s contractors, and conspiracy to injure Adani’s coal operations in Australia.
