High heat and humidity dominate the second half of the week

These heat alerts extend from the Northern Plains down to the Gulf Coast.
For the Carolinas, these will be the hottest temperatures we have seen all year. In fact we are forecasting actual highs to reach 98-99° on Thursday which if this verifies, this will be the hottest high temperature in 663 days, since October 3rd, 2019 when we reached 98°. Add high humidity and it will feel like 100°+.
