(WKBT) La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Ramona Gonzalez was featured Thursday in the first of a two-part series examining domestic and family violence. Gonzalez, who is a board member and immediate past president of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, talked to NBC about the importance of judicial education in that area. During the first segment, which aired Thursday, Gonzalez discussed parental rights and how accusations of violence may influence judicial decision-making. The second segment airs at 5:30 p.m. Friday on NBC.

(WKBT) The state of Wisconsin has reached a settlement agreement with Wild Rose Dairy, K&D Manure Handling and Kevin Hintz that would require them to pay $242,000 in a case connected to pollution in Vernon and La Crosse counties. Attorney General Josh Kaul announced the agreement Monday. It was approved in La Crosse County Circuit Court April 19 and Vernon County  Circuit Court April 21. “Spills like these harm Wisconsin’s waterways and fish that swim in them,” said Kaul. “Those who contaminate our clean water must be held accountable.”

(WKBT) A 22-year-old La Crosse man accused of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and other charges in connection with an April 4 drive-by-shooting is free on $10,000 cash bail, tied to a longer no-contact list, according to court records. Lloyd Julius A. Lloyd, who made his initial appearance during a Zoom hearing in La Crosse County Circuit Court Monday, is accused of being the shooter in the April 4 incident in the area of Rublee and Prospect streets. One of the shots allegedly hit the victim in the hip, causing a non-life-threatening injury, according to the arrest complaint.
