(WKBT) – The La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a swatting incident that sent a large police response to a residence on Krause Road in the Town of Farmington. The Sheriff’s Office received a phone call shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday about a situation involving “weapons and crimes” that were serious enough for law enforcement to call-in Gundersen Air, Farmington Fire and First Responders, Tri-State Ambulance, and State Patrol to assist. Officers were able to make contact with the homeowner and another person at the residence to determine those details were false.

(KAIT) - The Cross County Sheriff’s Office has their Smart 911 system up and running. Sheriff David West says the Smart 911 App will help them assist people in emergencies quickly and effectively. West says that they’ve had the system since around 2014. He didn’t know the previous sheriff had the system installed. The department has been paying for the service through AT&T the whole time. All you have to do is download the Smart 911 app on your smartphone. From there, you’ll answer questions including your address, medical problems, and medication use.

(KAIT) - School officials say the sheriff’s office cited a bus driver after a Friday morning crash sent her and several students to the hospital. The Wynne Fire Department and several other agencies responded to a school bus crash around 6:40 a.m. Jan. 29 on Cross County Road 522. According to a news release shared on social media, seven students were on board the Wynne School District bus when it ran off the road and crashed.
