(AP Photo/Michael Dwyer) A federal judge in Washington on Wednesday vacated a federal ban on evictions, saying it went too far – a ruling that deals a blow to housing advocates who have warned that lifting the moratorium could lead to a rise in coronavirus infections, particularly among low-income people and communities of color.

U.S. District Court Judge Philip Calabrese ruled in favor Wednesday of a group of property owners who argued in October that the ban, ordered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was an overreach.
