Kennewick s Mike Blatman Honored With Dedicated Bench

Mike Blatman was well-known in the Tri-Cities community. Mike spent 41 years in service to the Kennewick Police Department and was heavily involved in the Crime Stoppers program. Blatman sadly passed away last year but he s fondly being remembered with a new dedicated bench in front of the Kennewick Police Department. In a statement from the Kennewick Police Department, here is what KPD had to say about the dedication: Mike Blatman dedicated 41 years of service to the police department, Crime Stoppers, and the community. Unfortunately, last year, shortly after retiring, Mike passed away. In honor of Mike s dedicated service, Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers recently donated a bench in front of the station.

Lifelong educator, community activist and entrepreneur dies Courtesy of the City of Laredo Dec. 24, 2020 FacebookTwitterEmail Estela Quintanilla, Chairperson of the Laredo/Webb Drug and Alcohol Commission, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23. Quintanilla was an activist for fighting crime and helping others. Most recently, she worked diligently alongside city and county officials for the creation of a detox center. Her vision was to create a village-building center with medical staff, psychiatrists, substance abuse and chemical dependency licensed counselors, and job placement advocates to benefit everyone in the community, especially those suffering from drug and substance abuse. Mayor Pro-Tempore and council member for District IV Alberto Torres appointed Quintanilla to the Laredo/Webb and Alcohol Commission.

Author: Trisha Hendricks Updated: 3:28 AM MST December 14, 2020 PHOENIX Police are searching for a suspect who investigators say held a woman at knifepoint while robbing a Phoenix gas station.   Police were able to obtain security camera footage to help in the investigation. “Our victim was putting air in the tire of one of her cars when this suspect came up, grabbed her and had a knife and forced her to go inside the store,” said Silent Witness Sgt. Jamie Rothschild.   He described the frightening moments a Valley woman endured at the Circle K near 40th Street and Union Hills Drive on the morning of Dec. 3.
