Carlton man charged after allegedly impersonating authorised officer

Appeal for witnesses following alleged Broadmeadows stabbing

Police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged stabbing at a Broadmeadows supermarket last night. Police were called to the Pascoe Vale Road store after reports of a brawl between approximately 10-15 youths about 6.20pm. A 16-year-old Dallas boy was located with an alleged stab wound to the upper body, and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Superintendent Peter Lardner said the boy’s condition has since improved, and is no longer life-threatening. Superintendent Lardner said a video circling social media of the aftermath of the alleged stabbing showed “heartening” behaviour from the Broadmeadows community. “Members of the public, who didn’t know this youth at all, have actually gone to his aid,” he said.

New police complex to open doors

The new $45 million police complex in Werribee will commence operation this afternoon. As one of the largest Victoria Police facilities outside the Melbourne CBD, the new police complex will replace the former Werribee police station at 134 Princes Highway. Werribee’s uniform police, transit police, Crime Investigation Unit and Proactive Policing Unit will move into the new police complex. The Westgate Divisional Response Unit and Embona Taskforce will also move to the Werribee complex. The new Werribee Police Complex was funded as part of the 2017-18 state budget. Wyndham divisional commander, acting Superintendent Scott Colson, said the new Werribee Police Complex was “a facility capable of servicing the ever-growing local community”.
