Tech Mahindra has successfully implemented Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) for Himachal Pradesh Police to facilitate registration of FIR, NCR (Non-Cognizable Report), Missing Report, MLC (Medico-Legal Cases) and Preventive Action etc. Through CCTNS, Tech Mahindra supported Himachal Pradesh Police in its digitization efforts linking 148 police stations, 76 higher offices and 16 training centres across the State and training of appx. 8500 police personnel.

SDC is envisaged to establish a robust infrastructure to enable the Government to deliver the services quickly and effectively to its stakeholders. The proposed State Data Centre, connected to the State Wide Area Network (SWAN), shall provide the access to the e-Governance applications & Services to Government employees through Intranet and to the citizens through public Internet/CSCs etc.

Speaking to newsmen after Senior Police Officers Annual Meet here recently, he said the Karnataka Police was doing exceptional work in the detection of crime. “There are several instances where the Police have arrested the accused within 48 hours, which shows their efficiency. Statistics also show that the number of heinous crimes in the State is decreasing and Karnataka is a safe place for women and children,” he claimed.

‘FIRs can be registered in all police stations and transferred to SIT’
The Madras High Court on Tuesday directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to probe exclusively complaints lodged by motor insurance companies and others regarding numerous claims made before tribunals across the State using fake documents and insurance policies.
Justice N. Anand Venkatesh insisted that experts in solving cyber crime must be included in the SIT since many false claims were being made on the basis of policies supposedly taken online. He made it clear that First Information Reports could be registered at police stations across the State and then transferred to the SIT for investigation.
