Dequan Fuqua Gets 27-Month Federal Prison Term For Having Gun After Indictment For Attempted Murder Saturday, April 10, 2021 Dequan Fuqua A Chattanooga man who was one of three men charged in connection with a July 4, 2016, shooting that left 31-year-old Natasha Jones with critical injuries has been sentenced to serve 27 months in federal prison on a gun charge. Dequan Kentrel Fuqua, 23, appeared before Judge Curtis Collier. Fuqua had been arrested by federal agents on a charge of possessing a firearm while under indictment for a felony.  A federal agent said the Drug Enforcement Administration and Chattanooga Police executed a search warrant at 4683 Fall Creek Road last July 9.

Wichman Monument Owner Repays Families That Did Not Get Gravestones, Is Allowed Judicial Diversion Friday, January 15, 2021 The owner of a monument company who pleaded guilty to taking money from some families and not providing a gravestone will be allowed judicial diversion. An order from Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman would allow Trent Wichman, of Wichman Monuments, to have his cases dismissed and expunged if he successfully completes his probation and pays required fees. Last June 10, Wichman pleaded guilty to six counts of theft of property, which are Class E felonies. Authorities said he paid restitution to all listed victims before he pled guilty.

Man Out On Bond For Murder Of UTC Student Is Charged In Another Killing Wednesday, December 9, 2020 Terrence Dewayne Lewis Terrence Lewis, who was already charged with the murder of UTC student Evan Thad Derry, has now been arrested for killing Randy Williams on Dec. 2. The 29-year-old Williams died from an apparent gunshot wound. At approximately 1:29 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 3139 Lightfoot Mill Road on a report of a DOA. Upon arrival, officers located the victim deceased and secured the scene. Investigators with the Violent Crimes Bureau responded to conduct an investigation. Lewis was out on bond while awaiting trial in the murder of the 20-year-old UTC student on N. Bishop Drive.
