LIVE: Met Office issues warnings and police warn drivers as South West hit by heavy rain and flooding overnight
Several areas have been affected
Drivers across the south west have been warned to take caution on the roads after heavy rainfall has caused significant flooding overnight.
River levels have risen to dangerous levels with the Met Office issuing a red alert for the River Severn in Gloucestershire and the River Parrett in Somerset.
Amber flood warnings have also been issued for the River Chew catchment near Bristol.
The flooding is affecting road safety with police in Gloucestershire issuing a warning to drivers on the A48 with a tweet on social media.
