WOCAP assistance programs available WOCAP LIMA The West Ohio Community Action Partnership has announced upcoming programs.
The
Financial Management Program will be offered from 1-3 p.m. on Jan. 19,
20 and 21 and 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 23, 24 and 25 at WOCAP-Central,
504 W. Central Ave., Lima or via webinar.
Financial Management is a free program offered by WOCAP and gives the participants the opportunity to:
• Learn how to fix their credit
• Improve personal finances
Registration is required.
• Plenty of opportunity for First time Home buyers for the city of Lima
• Interest rates are as low as 3%
• Mortgages are lower than paying rent
Heating assistance available
SIDNEY – The Ohio Development Services Agency reminded Ohioans that assistance is available to help with their home energy bills.
The Home Energy Assistance Program helps Ohioans at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines pay their heating bills.
Applied directly to the customer’s utility or bulk fuel bill, the benefit can help manage heating costs. Ohioans can visit www.energyhelp.ohio.gov to apply online, download a copy of the application or find contact information for a local Energy Assistance Provider. When applying, individuals need to have copies of the following documents:
• Most recent utility bills.

Utility help offered through winter crisis program
LIMA The Ohio Development Services Agency and West Ohio Community Action Partnership are encouraging those looking for utility assistance during the winter months to learn more about the Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program.
“As the pandemic continues into the winter, it is important that Ohioans are able to stay safe and warm in their homes,” OSDA Director Lydia Mihalik said in a press release. “The Winter Crisis Program can ease the burdens of families. Ohioans who need help with their energy bills should visit energyhelp.ohio.gov to learn more about the program.”
