With just ten days left in 2020, I think we are safe to say that there will not be a Tornado Watch issued for the Kansas City metro area. Did you know we went the entire year without one Tornado Watch issued? There were four days with Tornado Warnings around KC, but they came without a watch, and usually in the middle of the night around 2 AM. This is an incredible statistic, and the fact that we share no tornado watches in all of 2020 with much of Tornado Alley. Take a look:
White Christmas Comes Right Down To The Wire This Year A mild bias (thank or blame a persistent wind flow from the Pacific) lingers into early next week, but models show a turn to colder weather just in time for Christmas. The arrival of this Canadian slip may trigger a little snow just in time for December 25. So you re telling me there s a chance.

NOAA says for Broome, Tioga, Delaware, Susquehanna, Bradford and Wayne Counties, there is the possibility of 9 to 16 inches of snow, beginning late afternoon and continuing overnight.

Chenango, Cortland, Otsego and Tompkins Counties are anticipating a little less snow with the National Weather Service predicting 7 to 12 inches total accumulation.
Forecasters say snowfall rates of two inches per hour are possible through the period. Winds at 10 to 15 miles a hour and gusting to 25 miles per hour, especially at higher elevations are expected with blowing snow and possible isolated power outages.
