The US National Weather Service (NWS) stated in their 3pm EST (8pm GMT) outlook on Tuesday that a “major winter storm” is poised to bring “heavy snow and areas of freezing rain to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast” from Wednesday. As a result, winter storm warnings and advisories have been issued across swathes of the US East Coast states. Some areas are forecast to see as much as two feet of snow over the coming days.
