-The State of Michigan turns 184 today!
-Monday, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II announced that the state of Michigan will partner with One Fair Wage to distribute more than $250,000 in relief for restaurant owners and essential workers, as well as community members in need.
Funding for the program, called High Road Kitchens, comes from the non-profit organization One Fair Wage.
-The Mattawan village board debated building a new wastewater treatment plant Monday. The village of Mattawan plans to conduct another environmental study before moving forward. Mattawan’s sewer system has been hooked up to the Kalamazoo wastewater facility since 1999 and the village said a six-mile section of the water main is failing – special thanks to WWMT for that report.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â Coldwater Community School Superintendent Terry Whelan told the districtâs school board on Monday night that the new Lakeland fourth and fifth grade building is now into its finishing touches.
She said a walk through is scheduled to take place this week but plans for an open house have been scrapped because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The school on Western Avenue is scheduled to open for classes after spring break.
In other business on Monday, the board decided to keep the same officers for 2021.
Doctor Ed Lake will be the President, Nick Krzeminski will be Vice President, Clair Dean is the Secretary while Jeff Holbrook will serve at Treasurer.
