Fort Hood officials have closed the post today due to inclement weather. Fort Hood will be closed for the remainder of the day. Only mission essential personnel should report for duty, according to a news release from Fort Hood.
Child Youth School Services Child Care Programs and the Fort Hood Child Development Center will open only for mission essential personnel.
Contracted personnel should report in accordance with their program/project managerâs instructions.

A mix of unstable air and cold temperatures has generated freezing rain throughout Central Texas since Thursday. Elevated surfaces, such as overpasses and bridges, have iced over and made road travel dangerous. The following is an updated list of weather-related closures, delays or cancellations:
Austin
Austin school district: Monday is a student holiday.
City of Austin: The Austin Parks and Recreation Department will be closing year-round city pools, tennis centers, and city golf courses starting at 1 p.m. Thursday. For more information on PARD facility closures, visit austintexas.gov/parkclosures.
