Grand Traverse County Child Care Home License Suspended

9 & 10 News May 19, 2021 A Grand Traverse County child care home has had it’s license suspended earlier this week. The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Child Care Licensing Bureau has summarily suspended and issued a notice of intent to revoke the family child care home license of Gail Parker, located on Fenton St. in Kingsley. The summary suspension order prohibits Parker from operating a family child care home on Fenton St., or at any other address or location. The order also requires the licensee to inform all parents of children in her care that the license has been suspended and that she can no longer provide child care.

Effective April 30, 2021, the summary suspension order prohibits Williams from operating a family child care home at 319 South Green Meadow Street, Grand Rapids, or at any other address or location. Accordingly, she may not accept children for care after that date and time. The order also requires the licensee to inform all parents of children in her care that the license has been suspended and that she can no longer provide child care.

SOM Iosco County Child Care Group Home License Summarily Suspended Media Contact: LARA Communications (517-335-LARA (5272)) Email: mediainfo@michigan.gov January 14, 2021 – The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has summarily suspended the child care group home license for Janet Shaffer, located at 120 Anna Drive, Tawas City. LARA’s actions resulted from a January 7, 2021 high-risk special investigation conducted at the child care group home. The investigation found violations of the Child Care Organizations Act and administrative rules. LARA took emergency action to protect the health, welfare, and safety of the children at Shaffer’s child care group home.  Effective January 12, 2020, the summary suspension order prohibits Shaffer from operating a child care group home at 120 Anna Drive, Tawas City, or at any other address or location.
