In order to meet the demand for COVID-19 testing, the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service will be conducting additional clinics this Thursday in Horton.
The clinics will be held at the Horton Community Centre, 1005 Castleford Rd., from 9 a.m to 12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.

The increased demand is a result of public health’s updated guidelines for parents of school aged children experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19. Students in Ontario’s five eastern counties and Canada’s capital city will be returning to class in-person on Monday, February 1.
On January 28, the Ontario government announced that the Eastern Ontario Health Unit region is one of the areas in the province in which in-person classes can resume on Monday. The EOHU’s jurisdiction includes the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry, the City of Cornwall, and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. In-person classes will also be able to resume on February 1 in the City of Ottawa.
Students in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, which includes Prescott, Brockville, and Gananoque, have already been back to learning in person for a week.
