Dixie after her challenge was complete A KIND-HEARTED schoolgirl who decided to run 300 miles to help children with cancer has completed her daunting challenge. As the Journal reported last September, Dixie Yates from Leigh, decided to take on a huge challenge to run 300 miles for Children With Cancer UK during lockdown, after being inspired by their TV appeal. Dad Tom said she got the idea after she an appeal for Children With Cancer and decided she wanted to do something to raise money for them. Dixie, who beat the target of doing the challenge by her ninth birthday on February 8, has gone out almost every day to run, despite having no experience previously.
