HCM CITY HCM City authorities have tightened COVID prevention measures by setting up 25 task forces in 21 districts and Thủ Đức City, and improving testing capacity to one million samples per day.
The task forces led by the Department of Health will focus on high-risk areas such as industrial parks, export processing zones and high-tech zones.
Twenty-two of the task forces will work with leaders of People’s Committees in city districts and Thủ Đức City to enhance prevention measures in those areas. The other three task forces will support management boards in export processing zones, industrial parks and high-tech parks, including the Quang Trung Software Park.
Large-scale coronavirus testing is being conducted among more than 320,000 workers across all export processing zones, industrial parks and high-tech zones in Ho Chi Minh City. - VnExpress International

Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said Tuesday that the HCMC Covid-19 cluster at the Revival Ekklesia Mission the most dangerous and the most difficult to control.
The cluster’s first infections developed symptoms in mid-May, but it was not until two weeks later that the city confirmed the first three patients after they visited a local hospital. We have already let the virus spread through four or even five generations in the community without knowing it. And as it spreads exponentially, the situation is now extremely dangerous, said Long.

Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia congratulate new Foreign Minister
Foreign ministers of Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia have extended congratulations to Bui Thanh Son on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a phone talk with his Vietnamese counterpart on April 9, Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith said he believes that Son will lead his ministry in efforts to reap more successes in foreign affairs.
Saleumxay Kommasith is the first foreign minister to make a congratulatory phone call to the Vietnamese newly-appointed minister.
