Guadalupe County deciding on finishing touches for sheriff s office renovation, construction project

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today Jun 9, 2021 | 5:38 AM (Seguin) It looks like the finishing touches are the topic of discussion for the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court as it looks to finalize the renovation and expansion project of the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office. Although the newly constructed side of the office is officially in operation, cosmetic issues regarding the old side of the building are now being questioned for the project which has not only taken a bit longer but appears will cost a little more. Overseeing the project on behalf of the commissioners court is Commissioner Pct. 2 Drew Engelke. Engelke says the county has a few more hurdles before it can officially wrap up the project.

Plans for a future Guadalupe County Development Center in the works

Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher says the county for the last several months has been tackling the design and start of construction for its future Development Center. “The Guadalupe County Development Center is something that we have been talking about and planning for the last few years. We are actually in the design process right now working toward construction numbers and hopefully, a groundbreaking by the end of the year but the Development Center would be a newly constructed building sitting at the corner of Interstate 10 and North Guadalupe Street on county owned property that will at an estimated 12,000 square feet building right now and again, in preliminary design. Guadalupe County recognizes, remembers law officers

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today May 17, 2021 | 5:56 AM (Seguin) – Law officers aren’t going unnoticed in Guadalupe County. The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office recently opened up its doors to observe the dedication and sacrifices of these men and women. Leading the charge at this year’s recognition and memorial ceremony was Guadalupe County Sheriff Arnold Zwicke. Zwicke says the ceremony is held each year in observance of National Correctional Officer Week May 2 to 8 and National Law Enforcement Week May 9 to 15. After forced to cancel last year’s ongoing tradition due to the pandemic, Sheriff Zwicke says he was honored to have everyone back so that they can be properly recognized and or remembered.
